Add Page Numbers

Stamp page numbers onto every page of a PDF, with control over position, format, and starting number.

About this tool

Stamps a page number onto every page of a PDF - the same thing a printer or copy shop does before binding a document, done instantly in your browser instead of a physical machine.

How to use it

  1. Upload a PDF - the first page renders as a live preview with a sample number badge.
  2. Pick a corner or edge for the number, a format ("1", "1 / N", or "Page 1 of N"), a starting number, and a font size.
  3. Click Add Page Numbers, review the summary, then confirm to download the result.

FAQ

Does this renumber pages that already had numbers printed on them?

No - it stamps a new number on top of each page in the position you choose. If the PDF already has visible page numbers elsewhere, both will show.

Can I start numbering from something other than 1?

Yes - set "Start at" to any number, useful for a document that continues numbering from a previous volume or chapter.

Does the "N" in "1 / N" count from my starting number?

No - N is always the PDF's actual total page count, regardless of what number you start counting from.
